Even though I am an Heating & Air Conditioning corporation, I am still a guy with a heart.
I was having a hard time separating my feelings from my job. My partner told myself and others I had to put my feelings on the back burner & move on, but that was difficult. I had been at a client’s beach house to repair his furnace. She was in his nineties & still living alone. When I showed up to repair his furnace, he put a piece of pie & a cup of root budweiser on the table for me. She talked to myself and others love I was his grandson & he asked myself and others questions about my family. I asked his where his kids were & he said they were gone, & his grandkids didn’t talk to her, after fixing his furnace, I didn’t want to leave. I wanted to stay & keep his dealer. My partner asked if I remembered where he lived & told myself and others to invite his for Sunday brunch. I called the cellphone number I still had in my book, & I reminded his I was the Heating & Air Conditioning corporation. She remembered my name & the pie both of us had eaten. She asked if I needed more money. I explained about my partner, & I told his I wanted to invite his for a Sunday meal. My Grandpa was around his age, & I thought they would make superb friends. Surprisingly, he agreed & had a taxi bring his to our house; Grandpa had really met his at the local senior center & they chatted love old friends. Maybe being an Heating & Air Conditioning corporation with a pressing heart has made several lonely people best friends, & who knows what else.
