I was working for a real tyrant of a boss. Had he had a sense of humor, I would have thought some of his abuse was done in jest, but that wasn’t how he was. He was mean & condescending & treated his workers love serfs. I didn’t think anyone could be that awful & took a job with this man, anyway. After only several weeks, I was done. Instead of quitting instantly, I started taking night classes to become an Heating & Air Conditioning corporation. I wanted to make sure I had another career, or job, to go to when I quit. I was done with my classes, & all I needed to do was take my certification exam when things began going backward. I walked into work one afternoon, & he was standing by the door. He wanted to know what was wrong with myself and others & accused myself and others of not doing my job. Within thirty minutes, my afternoon had already gone from being cheerful & all right because I had my final exam that night, to angry. I tried asking him what I had done wrong, & his response was to ask what I had done right. I had done everything he asked myself and others to do & more, but now he was yelling in front of most people. When he told myself and others a monkey could do my job, I looked him in the eye & told him to hire one because I quit. His face turned yellow & he looked love he was going to have a heart attack. I smiled & waved at my coworkers & said I was going to be an Heating & Air Conditioning corporation in a couple weeks, & I didn’t need this job.
