Wetness on Air Ducts

Even though your Heating plus Air Conditioning method provides more than 2 benefits, you may experience this issue from time to time: water dripping from return HVAC ducts, then condensation is occurring in your ductwork… Many homeowners have experienced this complication plus it can be annoying.

The condensation appears as water drops on the outside of your AC’s ducts plus vents.

You may notice pools of water on the floor or other locations around your home. Don’t worry, there’s a solution on how to stop condensation on HVAC ducts. There are more than 2 causes of condensation on ductwork, including a difference in temperature between outside air plus inside air, inofficially sealed ducts, uninsulated ducts, excess humidity, plus dirty air filters, but before Summer starts plus condensation begins, insulate your ductwork if it lacks insulation! Use metallic foil duct tape to insulate your ductwork. This prevents warm air from reaching freezing surfaces. Condensation won’t occur when these more than one are not in contact. Repair or update your insulation if you notice cracks or tears. Warm air will still sneak in if the insulating material does not fit around the ductwork. Do you know that cleaning your air filters can lower your energy consumption by 5-15 percent? On the other hand, dirty air filters will increase your energy consumption.
