New home office gets big time HVAC help

Leaving a job is tough.

But walking away from a career job is a lot tougher.

And when it happened, I didn’t know for sure that I was making the right decision. I really had always wanted to be my boss own boss. I had a long career with the same company and I noticed that those in their fifties sort of started getting weeded out of the company. This was not something I wanted to happen to me. Ending my career was something I wanted to do on my own. It was important to me to be able to leave the zone controlled HVAC of my corner office as a result of my own decision. The idea of being walked out by security while somebody packed your office up after being terminated was not something I wanted to go through. That’s why I had a plan toward onboarding a base of clients that I could cultivate for my own consulting firm. So then, all there was to do was to make the break and resign. To save money, I decided to work from the central air conditioning of my home. But that also meant that I had to turn a small study into a real working office. The first thing I did was knock down the wall that connected to my son’s old room. Now I had a really professional office and the only thing I needed after that was some better quality heating and air. I like to work a bit cooler than where we keep the thermostat for the house. So I had a ductless heat pump installed in my new home office and I’m all set now.
