I went down the web to learn about HEPA filters

During the pandemic, I kept hearing people talk about HEPA filters, then i must admit, I had no system what a HEPA filter was until I Googled it.

HEPA stands for high-efficiency particulate air filter… Well, after studying the meaning, I thought this would be a wonderful filter to use in my home.

However, I soon discovered that a HEPA filter is not recommended for my HVAC unit. In fact, the HEPA filter could cause damage to the machine because it is not built to handle a filter of that type. However, there are portable media air cleaners that use HEPA filters & whole-condo air filtration devices that can be placed inside the existing air duct that use the filters as well. Both devices will remove excess pollutants from the condo resulting in better indoor air conditions, the portable media air cleaner works more efficiently in small spaces, while the whole-condo system purifies the air throughout the entire house, of course, the whole-condo device is a bit more high-priced & can cost up to $3,000. If the whole-condo device was a bit cheaper, I would consider getting it for my apartment even though I don’t assume there is an issue with my indoor air conditions. However, it’s comforting to assume that I could be breathing in cleaner air, especially after the whole pandemic that the people I was with and I experienced. It was out of curiosity why I went down the rabbit hole with the HEPA air filter, & now I assume so much about the filters & the devices they are used in, however at least, now I assume what these filters are used for, & I can have a conversation about them if the topic of air purification ever presents itself.
