Just because it costs a ton more doesn’t necessarily make it better. That’s something that I try to remember. But by and large, I’d much rather pay more to get the quality that I want instead of replacing a mid priced item in a few years. So I spend some time inside the air conditioning with my laptop doing my due diligence when it comes to purchasing just about anything over a hundred bucks. I realize that most everything these days is made to be utterly disposable. I hate that on just about every level. It’s bad for the earth, it’s bad for the consumer and it just makes rich people richer. So I was plenty cautious when my wife wanted to get an air purifier. I understood and agreed with the fact that we needed an air purifier for sure. But when we started to shop for them, I was not at all pleased with the numbers. Most everything that was any good was close to a grand. And that meant that we still had to move those air purifiers around the house. There was also an air filter to clean frequently. All of that really sort of turned me off. So we asked our trusty HVAC professional about other options. And that’s when we started saving for the whole home air purification system. There is no moving it around as it works from within the HVAC unit. No filters either because it uses ultraviolet light to actively clean the air. It’s more than twice as expensive as the other air purifiers but definitely worth it.
