Cabin trips come with air conditioning this Summer

Looks like I won’t be making so many solo trip to the Cabin any longer.

That’s been the case for me and balancing trips to be in nature.

When I bought this cabin, it was with these trips in mind as well as a sound investment. The cabin isn’t much more than the most rustic of hunting lodges. No residential HVAC and no indoor toilet. Just a wood stove for eating and cooking, a couch and some chairs. My dad would have been proud. But it was the property that I was thinking about as well. That cabin sits on some beautiful forested land and I own 29 acres of it now. But rustic doesn’t get my family outside of the central air conditioning of our home. Nope, it was going to take a lot more than a wood stove for heating to get this crew out in the woods. So I spent the better part of the Winter and Spring out there with some buddies trying to put some lipstick on that pig. We started with some residential HVAC. One of my friends is an HVAC professional and he was all over that. The cabin is actually pretty spacious and structurally really quite sound. So we went with three ductless heat pumps. Or what my buddy calls a ductless multi split system. From there, I refurnished, painted and put in a stove and a fridge to go with the lone sink in the kitchen. It actually is a pretty cool place. And I’ll be really glad to have that air conditioning this Summer.
