These days, I wonder if my husband and I are incapable of taking care of ourselves.
- Now, please realize that we both have demanding full-time positions and handle our public lives like one would expect.
However, a lot of things that take place in private that are nothing short of ridiculous. We can be so spacey at times, it hurts to even admit some of our mutual mistakes. Most recently, we decided that we were going to quit paying so much money on our high energy bills by changing our thermostat system. Not only were the thermostat settings clearly too demanding for our extremely old heating, cooling, and air quality control system, but the dial thermostat itself could use an upgrade. We decided to have a local heating, cooling, and ventilation technician install a new smart air temperature control unit in our house so that the temperature control equipment could be properly regulated with energy-efficient settings that we did not have to worry about. We were really trying to simplify our indoor air quality management. After the heating, cooling, and air quality control technician fully installed our brand-new temperature control device we were stoked to see a change on our upcoming energy bill. Too bad, the price change went in the wrong direction – our energy bill actually increased! Just as I was about to call the local heating and cooling repair shop to replace our smart thermostat, my husband realized that we never actually set the indoor air temperature control device. It was running on high 24/7.
