Trying to remove radon with my HVAC system

The system was basically piping from the basement all the way to my attic.

When my husband and I discovered we had radon gas, we tried to handle the problem without an actual system. I did not want to pay for an expensive radon mitigation system and hire a radon company. Instead, I tried to remove the poisonous gas naturally. First I attempted to use my heating and cooling system. I own a central HVAC device. I figured the heating and cooling would blow all around the house. The gas would be spread thin by going to multiple rooms. Turns out that is not exactly a fix. I then got an air purification system to install right into my HVAC technology. As the HVAC runs, the air cleaner removes smells from the air. I read online that an air purification does help, but doesn’t ultimately remove the gas. I then tried HEPA filters in my equipment. These clean the indoor air quality even more than an air purifier. After all that messing around with my HVAC equipment, I did not discover the magic fix. I could naturally handle it on my own. My husband and I had to purchase an expensive radon mitigation system. We had to contact a radon company to do all the work for us. It was a horrible experience. The system was basically piping from the basement all the way to my attic. Then the piping attached to a fan that was used for ventilation purposes. Basically the HVAC system just blew the bad air quality around and around. The mitigation system pushes it outside. That is the only difference that I could detect.
