My gramps has lived on his own in a small house for a long time. At his old age he doesn’t have the mobiblity that he used to. He can’t make the changes to his house that he really needs to. When I flew up north to see him, I noticed how he only had a tiny air conditioning system in his home office and a space heater in the kitchen that looked rather small. I never honestly paid much attention to it before, but it was considerably cold this time of year plus this heater seemed to be getting overheated, but not enough to heat the room, you couldn’t feel the heat past 6 feet from the space heater. I asked him why he’d been enduring this for so long, plus he said he called an Heating & A/C serviceman to repair the heater plus was told it would cost more to repair the heater than it would to get one brand new. It was tough for me to see my gramps living along plus enduring frigid conditions without any relief, so I took the liberty of calling my dad and explained how we needed to help him. After doing some research plus reading a few things online, I decided on getting him an air-source heat pump that would not only repair his indoor central heating, but should alternatively replace his window air conditioning device. I could’ve gotten him a heat- only heat pump of course, but for long-term, a heat pump that uses the reverse valve apparatus would be more beneficial to my gramps. He’s not one to complain, but I think he is going to like having both heating and cooling relief.
