My Dad grew up in the only lake house in her entire neighborhood that had air conditioning system.
- She lived in a rural part of the country and not various people were really well off, it was a poorer part of neighborhood and her dad was the manager of the bank.
They were the only family in neighborhood that really had central air conditioning system in their home! Needless to say, our mom’s friends always wanted to come over to her lake house to hang out in the summertime when the temperatures outside were easily hot. They always wanted to come in and start cooling down before they went back outside, then my Dad had a ton of friends when she was growing up, and she has always said that it was because she had central air conditioning system in her lake house and no 1 else did. She did tell myself and others that it was fun to be the girl that always had people coming over to her house. I don’t believe if I would have wanted to be the center of attention simply because I had a central cooling system installed in our house… But our Grandpa easily liked being able to deliver the best of things to our Dad when she was growing up. I believe that it was cool that she was able to have air conditioning system when no 1 else did. These afternoons, just about everyone has air conditioning system in their homes so it’s not that uncommon. What a difference from the times when only 1 lake house in neighborhood had air conditioning system!
