Heated gym for hoops season

I coach high college gymnastics at a small college in the northeastern section of the country.

The weather is a major challenge for our sport.

All of us start practice for the football season the first of June plus the games run until the certainly end of October. At the start of the season, the people I was with and I deal with extremely sizzling plus humid conditions. The gym at our high college isn’t outfitted with air conditioner. While the people I was with and I set up electric fans, they don’t provide much relief! Because of the need for mats for stunting, it’s necessary to practice in the gym the majority of the time. Whenever possible, I take the women outside plus find a shady spot where the people I was with and I can take advantage of a breeze. It isn’t long before the weather cools off, plus we’re dealing with freezing rain, snow plus temperatures in the thirties. All of us then travel over an hour on a college bus to the away games. The gas heating systems on the buses are not able to keep up! Even with the heat blasting at maximum capacity, the women all bundle up in blankets for the drive. The freezing bus is still better than kneeling on the field, exposed to the elements, but during the games, I sit in the bleachers plus nearly freeze to death. Although the weather is especially brutal while in hoops season, the people I was with and I get the advantage of cheering indoors. Fortunately, the gym is heated. All of us practice plus have all games inside the gymnasium. Because of budget cuts, the people I was with and I no longer travel to the away hoops games, so the old gas heating systems on the bus aren’t an issue.
