I wasn’t glad when my kid wanted a hamster, and i don’t like mice, rats or anything in the rodent family.
I held her off for several years although she wouldn’t provide up on it; She desperately wanted a hamster for her pet, for her third anniversary, I finally gave in, plus she was absolutely happy.
I made her promise she would take care of cleaning the cage, plus feeding plus providing water for her pet. I also tied up the importance of keeping the hamster contained, then every one of us purchased a cage plus a large play part for the hamster, unfortunately, shortly after the purchase of the hamster, he got away from my daughter. She was moving him from the cage to his play part plus he got scared plus bit her finger. She dropped him plus he disappeared. Every one of us searched the entire condo for the hamster with no luck, but not long after that, both of us heard him scurrying around inside the walls. I worried about destruction to the structure of the condo plus the stink of rodent feces. I then got the method that the hamster might have gotten into the HVAC duct. Since this was in late September, the outside temperature was just beginning to cool off. Every one of us were only a couple weeks away from needing to beginning up the oil furnace, but there was no way I could run the oil furnace if my daughter’s pet was living in the HVAC ducts. What if he died inside the duct system? Not only would this devastate my little girl, but the stink would be horrendous. I contacted a local Heating plus Air Conditioning company plus arranged for professional maintenance of the oil furnace. I also mentioned the opportunity of a live hamster in the ducts. Fortunately, both of us were able to bait the hamster out with food.
