Working as an HVAC technician for someone from my past

She didn’t mind that I gave her a free helping hand

I work for a local A/C service business, but most of the time I work on repairs, however every once in a while I will perform an upgrade; however, installation tasks happen much less frequently, because people like to service their equipment instead of replacing it. Then heating and also A/C systems can be harshly fancy, especially if they are energy efficient. It makes more sense to service the problems instead of replacing the idea every couple of years! This month I went to help an older lady with a control device problem. Her youngsters purchased her a programmable control device and then they even installed the machine. Unluckily, they did not install the control device properly and so the lady could not control the heat or the air conditioner with the machine. I figured some of the wires were undoubtedly crossed and so I didn’t suppose the task would take a long time. However when I arrived on the front porch, I recognized the name of the customer. It was our math mentor from elementary school. I didn’t know the last name on the ticket until I saw the whole name on the mailbox. When she opened the door, she instantly recognized myself and others too. The people I was with and I had a nice hug and an hour or more of catching up. The control device wires were crossed and so the short service only took about more than nine minutes. I didn’t charge her for the repair, although I did take some fresh cookies to go. My boss totally understood when I told him about the nice lady. She didn’t mind that I gave her a free helping hand. That’s a single reason why I like our boss. She is undoubtedly a good lady.
