Staying in hotels versus staying at your own house

I hate staying at hotels. My wife, on the other hand, loves staying at hotels. When planning for anniversary and special trips, this disagreement can escalate into a full-blown argument. Typically, we end up staying at a hotel. She is happy about the room, and I am contented with the fact that there is a complimentary breakfast. One of the worst things about hotels is that their HVAC units are not as good as the ones at my house. I bought the best HVAC units that I could afford at the time. They are very efficient, and they are almost silent when they are running. My thermostats are all smart thermostats, which means I can adjust the temperature with only my phone, and I can program my thermostat easily. The thermostat has even learned my preferences, which means it can guess what temperature I want it when. With the hotel air conditioner, I don’t have that luxury. I have to reset it every time I am leaving, and the air conditioner never shuts off. Even if the air conditioner has a digital thermostat, it always manages to be freezing when I wake up. When it comes to heating systems, the hotel is controlled by a central heating system, which means I have no ability to control the thermostat. Because of this, I never sleep well in a hotel. The trips that are supposed to be very nice leave me wishing I was back at home with my awesome HVAC technology. My wife, regardless of the HVAC equipment, is just happy to be in a new environment.
