I’ve been toiling for a local heating & cooling company here in town for the past couple of years.
I’ve been an Heating, Ventilation & A/C professional for 10 years, & I’ve seen a lot of absurd stuff, but most of the time the absurd stuff has been while I was in repair calls when I’ve been called out to scrub the ventilation ducts in a client’s home, however ventilation duct & ductwork cleaning are genuinely popular services for our business. The two of us seem to get more calls for ductwork cleaning than for any other repair that the two of us provide. There’s a running joke among all of the Heating, Ventilation & A/C professionals at our company that you just never know what you’re going to find when you’re cleaning air vents & ventilation ducts, and one of my purchasers has a bunch of pets & the last time I cleaned out their ventilation ducts I found a whole bagful of old dried up pet poop! And then another time I did an ductwork cleaning at an old couple’s house & I found 87 marbles rolling around in the long ventilation duct upstairs. Another one of the craziest things I ever found while I was in an Heating, Ventilation & A/C repair call was when I found an entire mannequin! It was disassembled & there were strange body parts shoved down in numerous air vents throughout the house. That was so creepy that I almost told my boss at the heating & cooling company that I was done with ventilation duct cleaning forever! Unfortunately for me, if you’re going to toil in the Heating, Ventilation & A/C business, you have to be willing to scrub out air vents!
