Before I moved to school in the city I didn’t really know anything at all other than country life.
Growing up as a kid I had always assumed that I would join my father’s farming business, but as I got a bit older, I began to realize that I wished to do something else in my life. When I turned eighteen, I said goodbye to the country and moved multiple hours away to the city in the hopes of becoming a certified HVAC repair tech. After I began taking HVAC repair classes it became especially clear to me that I had an advantage from the rest of the trainees… Unlike the majority of the people who were in the class with me, if I had ever wanted something in my life I either had to repair it or build it on my own! Not only when it came to heating and cooling devices in our home, but several other things that people often to take for granted. Despite the fact that I hadn’t had several high tech things to work on while I was younger, I was able to use my labor and resourcefulness to pick things up relatively quick. Soon after finishing up with my HVAC courses I was actually offered a task to labor at a single one of the most well known HVAC heating and cooling companies in the city. I honestly would have never imagined that I would be working in this concrete jungle when I was being raised, but thanks to the lessons I was able to learn where I am from I was able to make it happen.
