Before I moved to college in the big city I didn’t even know anything at all other than country life.
Coming up as a child I had always assumed that I would join my father’s farming business, however as I got a bit older, I began to see that I wanted to do something else in my life.
Once I turned eighteen I said goodbye to the country life and moved three hours away to the big city in the hopes of becoming a certified Heating and A/C appliance maintenance tech. After I began taking Heating and A/C maintenance classes it became genuinely clear to me that I had a real advantage from the rest of the trainees… Unlike the majority of the men and ladies who were in the class with me, if I had ever wanted something in my life I either had to repair it or build it on my own. Not only when it came to heating and cooling appliances in my home, however many other things that people commonly take for granted. Despite the fact that I hadn’t had many high tech things to repair when I was younger, I was able to use my hard work and resourcefulness to learn things extremely quick! Shortly after finishing up with my Heating and A/C appliance courses I was given a job at one of the most well known Heating and A/C appliance companies in the city. I would have never dreamed that I would be finally working in this concrete jungle when I was growing up, however, thanks to the lessons I had where I am from I was able to make it a reality.
