I adore being a mom.
I just gave birth to our first little baby boy! He is so sweet. I cannot even express how much I adore that little guy. He just turned six months old, and I cannot think how fast time has flown past. It feels like just yesterday that I was in the hospital meeting him for the first time. I really wish that time would rest still for a few years. I am already dreading him getting any older. He is a pretty great baby, but he does get fussy quite a bit. I have tried many things to settle him down, but I have found that the best thing is to sit him in front of the fireplace. He loves to watch the flames. Our fireplace is an electric fireplace, so the flames are fake, but this doesn’t matter to him. He will literally lie down in front of it and watch it for several hours. I have never enjoyed my fireplace so much. I have always wanted a “real” fireplace, but I would not trade this electric one for a real one anyday. Now that I know how much my baby cares about this fireplace, I am quite content with it. My partner laughs at me because I used to mention how much I wanted a wood burning fireplace almost every single day. He always had an eye out to see if he could find a wood fireplace for a cheap price, but he doesn’t need to look anymore. I hope that our electric fireplace keeps finally working to soothe our fussy baby boy.
