Size plays only a small factor

From a pretty young age, companies try to sell us on “big”, big candy bars & crucial soft drinks, large trucks & sedans, crucial houses & condos – big, big, big! Anyone with financial correct sense knows that “big” isn’t everything when it comes to having the best for your individual needs. Still, we occasionally fall for the “size matters” trope, & find ourselves buying too much for what we need. Such a lapse in judgement happened with myself and others the other day, when I was shopping around for a room cooling system to install in our garage, later as I browsed the floor models, a salesman approached me, asking if I needed help, however to humor me, I said sure, & explained what I needed. The salesman seemed to be great at his job, since he convinced myself and others to go with a room cooling system intended to cool a small warehouse! It sounded so enticing when I was over at the store, however now that I have it installed, I realize it was a mistake. The component I purchased cools the room so fast, it has incredibly short cycles, however not only does that mean the room heats up faster again, but it means the component eats up power at an horrifying rate; My energy bill for the week after installing it was astronomical, in a word! I felt so foolish for buying into size instead of doing research and getting what I hoped to have. Thankfully, a friend was willing to go with myself and others to the store & find a smaller model. I was also fortunate to sell our oversized component back to the store, but let that be a lesson: size isn’t everything, especially when it comes to appliances for the place!
