The RV had substandard heating

When I say “the engine was active” I mean idling it was not enough, if you wanted the heating to blast, you had to be driving around.

So it turns out the cabin burned down and no one noticed. Admittedly things have been crazy since the pandemic started. Usually we went up to stay in the cabin every month or so, just for a few days, but with the quarantine and all we stopped going. At some point over the last few months, the place got hit by a tree, caught fire, and burned to the ground. Thank goodness the fire didn’t spread into the woods, or other nearby cabins. We still wanted to spend a little time out there, and see what we could recover, so we borrowed a friend’s RV. Like most RVs it had climate control in it, but it was pretty old, and if the engine wasn’t active the heating was lackluster at best. When I say “the engine was active” I mean idling it was not enough, if you wanted the heating to blast, you had to be driving around. This did us no good when it came to sleeping overnight, so we had to make do the best we could and use a wood fire outside for heating our food and keeping us warm. When it was time to go to bed, at the coldest part of the night, we would use blankets and our own body heating to keep us going through the night. The cabin was a total loss, and with the heating situation the RV was less than optimal, so we did our business and got back home as soon as possible. I sure will miss that cabin.
