There’s a cold spot in our house in the living room and it just won’t go away.
It’s really driving me crazy because it’s right next to the couch wherever I go to watch TV and relax at night. The problem is that it’s winter here and it’s kind of hard to relax much when you’re shivering and freezing in your own living room. I think that there has to be something very wrong with the heating system in the house, but I really don’t know all that much about HVAC systems in the first place. I basically know how to change the batteries in the thermostat unit and that’s it. The only other thing I have any idea how to do is change the air filters in the HVAC unit when they need it. When it comes to troubleshooting other issues with the heating and cooling system, I have no clue how to do anything else. Anyway, I’ve been dealing with this cold spot ever since the weather started cooling off and I finally gave up and called the local HVAC company to see if they had some advice for me about the cold spot. The HVAC technician that I spoke to was very nice and knowledgeable. He told me that to him, it sounded more like we were having trouble with our ventilation system than with the heating system itself. He suggested that we have the ventilation system checked and some ductwork sealing done. He was fairly confident that if we did that, it would fix the problem with the cold spot in the living room. I hope that he’s right!
