She called the HVAC tech for blocked air vents

Sometimes I think that my sister is absolutely out of her mind.

  • She is so intelligent when it comes to academic accomplishments and professional advancement.

However, when it comes to basic living skills and common sense… Something is missing. For the longest time, I have been trying to take care of her and take her under my wing. I know a thing or two about practical life skills and I really would like to help her learn to be a better adult. This is why we had to have a long talk about Indoor air temperature control systems, energy efficiency, and air vents the other day. Apparently, she has never really thought about her indoor air temperature control devices or the way that they relate to her high energy bills. If you have never operated a central heating, cooling, and air quality control system for yourself, then you may also be lacking some knowledge when it comes to the correlation between temperature control systems, health, and financial security. You need to take care of your heating and cooling system in order to take care of your body and your bank account. My sister was unfamiliar with the costs of centralized heating, cooling, and air quality control systems, so I was trying to give her some pointers. First of all, I helped her to close up some air vents so she was not constantly heating and cooling empty rooms. Then, we talked about routine HVAC maintenance. Finally, I programmed an eco friendly temperature control program into her thermostat. You can imagine my disappointment a few days later, when she called an HVAC technician out for an emergency repair on the heating and cooling system… because she forgot we closed the air vents. I give up.
