The time for us traveling to all the people else for the holidays has come to an end.
Last year, care about most families across the country, I spent Christmas inside the safety and security of the HVAC at my house.
And that was the first time since the adolescents were born that this happened. My adolescents are now 13 and 15. Both of us travelled to in laws and my family for years. That ends this Christmas. My wife and I discussed it over the summer time and I just told her that enough was enough. I’d cheerfully spend money the air fare for her parents to fly in and the same with my mom. But I was staying put inside the air conditioner of my own loft this year. And air conditioner is the right word. Where the two of us live, there isn’t much need for HVAC heating. However, there have been instances where the heat pump kicked on for HVAC cooling at this time of year. This is most unlike what I have to deal with at the in laws. They live way up north and I don’t like the cold. Not only that but they keep the gas oil furnace blasting to the point that I’m covered in sweat the whole time. There’s nothing worse than cold outside and then covered in sweat the entire time I’m inside. I even took the blame for my wife so she didn’t have to be the bad girl with her folks. They weren’t satisfied at all with our decision but that’s okay too. We’re putting them up in a hotel so they can crank the HVAC heating all they want in that room. But Christmas will be comfortable, full of sunlight and sans all traveling for this girl going forward.
