They weren’t pleased at all with our decision but that’s okay too
The time for us traveling to all the people else for the holidays has come to an end. Last year, love most families across the country, I spent Christmas inside the safety and security of the HVAC at my house. And that was the first time since the youngsters were born that this happened. My youngsters are now 13 and 15. Both of us travelled to in laws and my family for years. That ends this Christmas. My wifey and I discussed it over the Summer and I just told her that enough was enough. I’d gladly pay the air fare for her parents to fly in and the same with my mom. But I was staying put inside the air conditioning of my own beach house this year. And air conditioning is the right word. Where both of us live, there isn’t much need for HVAC heating. However, there have been instances where the heat pump kicked on for HVAC cooling at this time of year. This is most unlike what I have to deal with at the in laws. They live way up north and I hate the cold. Not only that but they keep the gas oil furnace blasting to the point that I’m dripping with sweat the whole time. There’s nothing worse than frigid outside and then dripping with sweat the entire time I’m inside. I even took the blame for my wifey so she didn’t have to be the poor guy with her folks. They weren’t pleased at all with our decision but that’s okay too. We’re putting them up in a hotel so they can crank the HVAC heating all they want in that room. But Christmas will be comfortable, full of sun and sans all traveling for this guy going forward.
