New roof improves energy efficiency

When every one of us obtained our house, every one of us knew that it needed a new roof.

The roof was past the expected lifespan plus showing signs of leaking.

However, there were a lot of house improvements that took priority. The two of us had no option but to purchase a new warm water heater, washing device plus dryer. The windows badly needed to be replaced, plus there were problems with the air duct leaking. Eventually, every one of us started finding loose shingles in the grass every time there were high winds. The two of us needed to set out pots to catch the drips from the ceiling during rainstorms. The two of us took out a loan plus hired a roofing contractor to handle the task. Because of the age of the roof, the contractor needed to tear it all the way off. With the indoor living environment exposed to the outdoors, every one of us dealt with bugs plus all sorts of pollutants. It was not possible to run the a/c. The temperature was in the high eighties or low nineties with excessive humidity every day! Living without the cooling plan was awful. The two of us had to make due with box fans. The two of us were anxious for the project to be finished. When the contractors finally packed up plus left, I expected the a/c to struggle to bring the temperature down. I was amazed by how quickly the entire house was perfectly comfortable. The new roof has significantly increased energy efficiency all year round. In the winter, the oil furnace no longer needs to work as strenuous or run as often. There is far less wear plus tear on the unit plus I pay a lot less in energy costs every month. The savings are helping to pay for the new roof. Plus, I expect that the oil furnace plus a/c will last quite a bit longer.
