DIY cooling system repair

When I noticed some problems with the central cooling system, I tried to hide the problems from our husband.

My husband prefers to fix things. He has invested into a large inventory of tools and believes himself to be handy. When he repaired our vacuum cleaner, I needed to buy a new 1. When he repaired the ceiling fan in our dining room, I could no longer use the light feature. I was afraid that his efforts would force me to buy a brand new cooling system. My complaints with the cooling method were diminished airflow, musty stinks and a greater concentration of dust floating around. Although the cooling system was still operational, I called for professional repair right away… Unfortunately, I couldn’t get an appointment for over a week. The weather that month was especially hot and humid, making the cooling system essential. I knew I was in trouble when our husband started fiddling with the temperature control. He asked me if the condo felt overheated and then got out his tools. I explained that I’d already set up a service appointment, however that didn’t deter him. He took the outer lodgeet off and found a significant buildup of dust inside. There was mold growing on the cooling coil and algae thriving in the condensate drain. My husband spent all afternoon carefully cleaning all of the components. When he put the cooling system back together, I doubted that the cooling method would start up. However, it ran perfectly. The complaints with cooling capacity, comfort and air quality were solved. I was able to cancel our appointment with the HVAC company and save that currency.
