Negotiating over HVAC equipment

It’s for sure a seller’s market these days when it comes to real estate.

We’ve been in the market for a couple of years now.

The process started when my wife and I realized that our house was just too much for the two of us. I loved that house and it was a great place to raise the kids. But when the HVAC technician informed us that the HVAC equipment was about to tank, it seemed like the right time to move on. That was a tough thing to do. Not the HVAC equipment replacement but the turning of the page with that house. Actually, the new residential HVAC was no problem at all. The HVAC contractor from the HVAC company we’ve always used took care of everything. Once he helped us wade through all the changes and evolution when it came to residential HVAC, it was easier to make choices. And the realtor was also very helpful as she had pretty specific data about what sort of turn key HVAC situations buyers were looking for. Our house sold for a bunch of money and we were eager to find a new, much smaller place for ourselves. But that has proved to be a tough get. We’ve had trouble finding just what we want. This latest house has just about everything we want. The kitchen is updated and modern. There is a wrap around deck and acreage. The hang up has been, ironically, the heating and cooling equipment situation. The seller just doesn’t want to do it. So we are negotiating the price in order to make it worth our while to have our HVAC contractor do it again.
