When we moved to the south, we knew we were moving to the land of the heat pump. What I didn’t realize was that for us, it was the land of the ductless heat pumps. That’s the sort of heating in addition to cooling system that our wife in addition to I chose for our little bungalow. We’re both from up north so all of our winters have come with heating from a gas heating system. And in university, we both lived in dorms that had radiant heating. Man, that was some extreme heating. I saw the size of the old boiler in that old building once in addition to was stunned. But that thing could pump out the heating. I would have to open our window mid Winter time just to not turn our dorm room into a sauna. So when we chose to transport south for a task promotion our wife had been laboring toward for years, we didn’t show up uninformed. The people I was with and I knew that living down here meant that we were going to take a beating from the heat in addition to humidity while I was in the summer. And the weather didn’t disappoint. When we bought our home, it had a honestly, honestly old central air conditioning system system. The people I was with and I of course had to update it. But when we found out the ductwork was shot too, we pivoted to another idea. That’s how we ended up with the ductless multi split system. And actually, we love it in addition to won’t be going central air conditioning system again.
