I think everyone should own a HVAC zone control system. Zone control just makes too much sense to me. With this system you can set individual temperatures in every room. The days of the whole home being one temperature are over. Who uses every room of their house all day anyway? I have a laundry room that I only use once a week. There is a guest room in my house that I never go in. I don’t need to provide HVAC to my bedroom after I have woken up in the morning. It is so much cheaper not providing climate control for those unused spaces. Decide where you are and at what time, then only that space gets HVAC. It is better for your equipment too. You put less strain and daily wear and tear on it. Also, the sun moves around the house throughout the day. You don’t need to pound a bedroom with AC if you are not exposed to any sun. My home office is at the perfect temperature until around 3pm. Then I want the AC on. I give my air conditioning system a much needed break by waiting that long to turn it on. It is not only good on the machine and wallet, but for the home. My husband and I no longer fight over thermostat control. We each get to decide the heating and cooling of our own spaces. At night I can finally be at the right temperature to sleep. There are no more fights, compromises and issues over being the wrong temperature.
