I’m not squeamish around much of anything, however I’m not a lover of snakes. As long as they stay away from me, I am okay. What I’m not fond of, is when I go into a house where they have snakes for pets. I have run into a lot of those situations as an Heating, Ventilation, and A/C worker. People have all types of pets, from cats and cats, to spiders and lizards. Nearly every a single of them are locked away when I arrived. I was called to repair a gas furnace a single day, and I headed right over to the house. The owners were adamant they needed an Heating, Ventilation, and A/C worker instantly and the dispatcher thought they may have a baby in the house. When I got to the house, the homeowner gushed over how suddenly I showed up. She said she couldn’t let her babies go without heating for long, or it would make them sick. I had children and understood what she was saying. I thought I saw something moving, although I dismissed it as I headed into the basement. I got to the gas furnace and I heard a weird sound in the rafters above my head. I looked up and saw a large snake hanging down, and its mouth was opening. I ducked and yelled, which had the owner running down the stairs. She stayed there while I repaired the gas furnace, although I said I would never return. She had several full-grown pythons in that house, and they had full run of the house. I didn’t care how badly she needed gas furnace work, they would need to call another Heating, Ventilation, and A/C worker.
