I l received at that age that people who really had lots of currency went out of their way to prevent others from knowing, lest they get judged for their financial worth instead of their character.
There are billionaires that live in 2 story homes with 3-4 dining rooms plus cars that are over 15 years old. As far as how they spend their riches, I can’t say for sure. Some devote those resources towards philanthropy, while others might have expensive hobbies plus meal habits. When I was delivering packages for a major shipping business, I had a lot of wealthy people on my route that I recognized by name alone. While a fair share of them were in classic looking mansions, some would purposefully live much more minimally. They don’t need $10,000 geothermal heating systems plus radiant flooring if a easy central gas furnace works on its own. This actor who made millions on every film had a condo with ductless mini splits in every room. A state politician had actual window cooling systems that you could see from the street. The thing is, you don’t need to live in a mansion with a complicated weather conditions control method just because you can technically afford it. And if that currency ever runs dry, you won’t be able to maintain that expensive lifestyle. I wouldn’t mind a geothermal heating method for sheer efficiency purposes alone, although I don’t believe I could ever afford the high cost of entry. As far as a/cs are worried, I’m good with a traditional break style central cooling system.
