Heading back into the work scene

I worked extremely hard for a lot of years, and when it came time to call it quits I went into it with a positive attitude.

Men and women always told myself and others I would get bored and that I needed to find some hobbies, and it turns out those people were right, however i knew if I didn’t keep myself all wrapped up then the retirement wouldn’t be fun, and I felt I was in desperate need of some fun.

As stupid as it might sound, I began truly working a part time job for a few minutes a week. It wasn’t about the extra money, it was just to keep myself and others up and active, and truly working with the Heating, Ventilation, and A/C equipment I was so good at fixing. You should have seen the guy’s face light up when I asked if he happened to need someone with 40 years of Heating, Ventilation, and A/C experience on his team, and the child is half our age, but he already is the owner and operator his own A/C maintenance business so he must be a smart businessman. He seemed to be super ecstatic to welcome myself and others aboard, and started me off as a field manager for the Heating, Ventilation, and A/C techs. He was able to see our actual value was experience, wisdom, and being able to troubleshoot any heating or cooling issue I might encounter. He lets myself and others go with the rest of the team on bigger and bigger jobs just to offer counsel, I rarely even touch the Heating, Ventilation, and A/C equipment these afternoons. I leave the task to the younger people, and am more than happy to sip our Tim Hortons Cappuccino and tell them the little ins and outs of Heating, Ventilation, and A/C maintenance they may not guess due to my experience, or lack thereof.
