The lady at the front desk was quite lovely

I had to stay in a hotel a month ago for work.

I’d been sent to a training seminar, and I was gone Thursday to Tuesday. I decided to stay an extra day in the city, so I could go to a football game and see the museum. The moment I arrived at the hotel on Thursday, I wanted to check into my room so I could get settled. I had a long drive and my legs were stiff and sore. My back was hurting too. The lady at the front desk was quite lovely. She asked me if I wanted to be in a room facing the garden or the beach. I wasn’t concerned about where the room was located, as long as it had heat. It was 17° outside, and I was ready to check into my room so I could take a hot shower. My room was located on the 9th floor. I grabbed all of my belongings and took the elevator to the 9th floor. I found my room at the end of the hall, and used my key card to open up the door. The moment I opened the door, I felt the heat coming out of the room. The room was very sizzling and humid. I left the front door open for some time to allow the air out into the hallway. The thermostat on the wall furnace was set to 74°. I wanted the room to be warm, however 74° was way too hot. I turned off the heating system for a few minutes until the room reached a comfortable temperature.
