Maya was tired of private school, and she was always looking forward to leaving to go to work. Her senior year was taking too long. And she kept thinking about dropping out. However, Maya understood that getting her GED was important, and his mom would never allow him to leave school. So, she stuck around, and continued to work part time at the Heating and A/C business. Her mom owns the local Heating and A/C supplier in town, and always wants Maya to take it over when she retires. However, that would mean getting the right training, certification and experience to run such a busy dealer. Maya’s mom has employed a team of 20 Heating and A/C workers and they serve a wide service area. She encouraged Maya to come work part time at the Heating and A/C supplier when he was 13 and looking to earn some money. Since then, Maya has learned so much about heating and cooling, and also what it takes to run a successful business. This is why she was eager to finish private school, and go on to the Heating and A/C training college. There she’d get his Heating and A/C certification, and also loads of useful information about heating and cooling. His plan was to work for a different Heating and A/C supplier for several years after finishing school. While he did want to work with his mom, it’s important to also work at a different location, and learn new lessons. Her mom is on board with this plan and Maya is well on his way to being an excellent boss one afternoon.
