Last year I went on two different vacations.
This might not seem like much to some people, but it’s a lot more than what I’m used to.
I went about 5 years without ever going on a single vacation. I’m just happy to get out of the area and away from my job for a few days, let alone a week. Some of my friends traveled so much over the last 5 years that it started to make me feel sort of envious when I would see their photos on social media. I didn’t have the means to do this on my own, and I didn’t have any friends offering to take me with them. At least I can enjoy the vacation time now even if it’s a little too late. One thing that helps while I’m on vacation is having smart devices that I can use to monitor my house while I’m away. Between my cameras and my smart thermostat, I have quite a bit of control over my house. The smart thermostat is great for adjusting the temperature if the weather changes while I’m away. Sometimes I just put it on auto mode to let the thermostat determine the right temperature based on whatever the weather is like outside. But sometimes I want to adjust it manually so that way I can set the temperature to whatever I want it to be. The smart thermostat, I can make all of these adjustments remotely from my phone. It makes it a lot easier to go on a vacation for an extended period of time.
