A not so hidden problem

Summer was approaching rapidly & I was worried my good friend and I would not be ready to handle the heat.

There is nothing worse than lying awake at night perspiring & I knew my good friend and I needed to make preparations to avoid that.

My good friend and I live in an old farmhouse so my good friend and I don’t have central air. My good friend and I rely on window units in the home offices to keep them cool & comfortable. I kept bugging my hubby to install them & finally one day she agreed to take care of it. She wasn’t enthusiastic about it because she had a busy schedule & I feel she failed to level them. My good friend and I were sitting in the home office one night watching cable when my good friend and I noticed a crucial wet spot on the ceiling. There isn’t any plumbing on that wall so my good friend and I headed upstairs to investigate. As soon as my good friend and I entered the home office above the home office my good friend and I knew what was wrong. The window component was draining water down the wall instead of outside where it should be. It was tilted in instead of out & the collection pan underneath it had filled & was spilling over. The drywall beneath it was ruined & the water had seeped through the floor & onto the ceiling below. Now my good friend and I had a mess to repair in two rooms that could have been avoided if my hubby hadn’t been in such a hurry to put them in. I have to admit that my nagging him to do it really didn’t help the situation either. Next year my good friend and I will both have to show more patience when preparing for summer.
