It’s really hard to age.
I honestly didn’t think that I would ever find myself becoming “one of those people” who was desperately clinging to youth, but here we are.
It’s sadder than I thought. We are at that age when people generally have midlife crises. I can understand how it happens. Too bad, that didn’t save me from falling into a similar hole. Luckily for me, I went into an industry – the air quality control field – that I love. For the most part, I’ve been happy with what I do as a professional HVAC technician. But at the same time, I’ve always wished that I had tried harder to fulfill my bigger heating and cooling dreams. As a professional heating, cooling, and ventilation technician I love the daily work. I never have to be concerned about finding a new HVAC position because there are heating and cooling repair jobs everywhere. I never have to wonder about my next paycheck because I am nicely compensated for my furnace and AC unit expertise in the heating, cooling, and ventilation field. I also never have to doubt the impact that I make in people’s lives, because I can usually see the relief on my clients’ faces after I fix their busted heating, cooling, and ventilation systems. But at the same time, I wish I had pursued a larger role in the heating, cooling, and air quality control field. I could have been an HVAC inventor or AC repair teacher, to change the future HVAC industry for the better. Maybe there’s still time to make a bigger difference in heating, cooling, and air quality control for me.
