It took a whole lot of doing, because of some last hour concerns, but finally I was on my way to a much needed trip.
The partner & I were taking a cruise, more than three afternoons on the open water, stopping at more than 2 uncommon islands to eat, drink, & be merry.
Both of us raced to the airport, flew to the coast, & then took a taxi to the wharf where our cruise ship was just about to leave. Both of us were in such a rush to get on board & explore the ship both of us didn’t even visit our suite for multiple hours, and of course by the time both of us got there, & realized that the in-room AC device was not working, both of us were already well out to sea. The boat was booked up solid, or so they said, so the best they could offer was some drink vouchers to wait in the bar while the room air conditioner got looked at. The bar had perfect AC going on, so for a couple of hours both of us sat there & got really hammered for free. By the time both of us got back to the room, the workers were gone & the AC was blowing strong & smooth, so both of us both passed out. Waking up the next afternoon was rough, because both of us were both super hung over from all the Moscow Mules, but also because the air conditioning had stopped working again. My partner easily raised cain after that, demanding an update or more drink vouchers, or at least asking if any of the guests on board could service an air conditioner, because they sure couldn’t.
