My electric fireplace was really acting up in recent months and I was not sure what was wrong with the thing.
It was constantly making this humming noise every single time I would put it on.
I knew this was not normal as I had my electric fireplace for a few years and never heard these sounds coming out of it before. I finally broke down and called a fireplace repair service to have them come and take a look at it. It turned out that the electric fireplace was in the process of failing all together in its motherboard. And that was what the loud hum sound was all about. I had 2 choices. I could either pay the fireplace repair folks to replace the motherboard in the electrical circuits, or I could just invest in a brand new electric fireplace. To do the motherboard replacement was going to be a few hundred dollars cheaper, so naturally I decided to go with that option. They replaced the motherboard in the electric fireplace and it took all day to do so. But when it was done my electric fireplace was no longer making that loud hum sound and it was even working much better and stronger as well. This was good timing that I decided to do this with the holidays coming up in the near future. I did not want to have a broken electric fireplace because it had become a part of the whole holiday decorations around my house. So all will be well now.
