I was glad that my boyfriend was right around the corner when I called for help
I was on my way home from work a couple of weeks ago, and I had to stop on the side of the highway. It was very cold outside and I was running the heater on high. I was wearing a pair of gloves, however my fingers and hands were still very cold. I called my boyfriend on the phone, when I noticed that the temperature in the car was getting warmer, the dial in the center of the car was moving and I never observed the orange arm getting closer and closer to the red line. Even though I don’t know much about cars and engines, I knew that was a bad sign. I called my boyfriend and the first thing he said was to turn off the heater. I protested for a moment, because it was only 17 degrees outside. He told me that it would help cool the engine if the heater was off. I drove another few miles, however the temperature gauge never dropped. I finally pulled over to the side of the highway and I waited for my boyfriend to come check on the car, and one of the radiator hoses was loose. It was a very easy fix, however it could have caused a lot of serious problems to the engine. I was glad that my boyfriend was right around the corner when I called for help. He works at a pizza shop that is very close to the interstate and he is going to night school for auto repair. I knew he would be able to help.
