My Mom and dad have been separated for six months.
- They are actually going to get a divorce.
They still argue all the time, and they don’t even live together right now, however my dad had to get an apartment after he moved out of the family house. My mom and both of my sisters and I still live at the same address, but we visit my dad on the weekends. A couple of months ago, my dad finally got a place of his own. Unfortunately, it is a bit run-down and needs a lot of renovations. The air conditioner doesn’t work very well. My sisters and I spent last weekend without any AC, then when I came home from my dad’s house, I was a little frustrated about spending all weekend without any air conditioning. I told my mom that I did not want to go back to my dad’s place until the AC problem was fixed. My mom immediately got on the phone with my dad and she started yelling and screaming. I only heard half of the conversation, although I believe she was frustrated about the AC. I did not want to cause a huge fight when I started venting to my mom, although she immediately called my dad to begin a fight. I hate being in the middle of their drama. It isn’t great for my two sister’s either. They are 3 and 5 years younger than me and still genuinely impressionable. Next time I have an issue with my dad, I will not talk to my mom about it. I’ll call a friend instead.
