Heated Floors At The Train Station

They didn’t have radiant heated floors, but a really nice central heating system

I had to take a small business trip last Winter for my job, and rather than drive, I decided to take the train. It was in the next state over, and was possibly around a 2 hour train ride. It was really freezing cold the day I left. So cold, that nothing you can imagine would completely combat the bad temperatures that were going on outside. Even the heater in my car could not warm me up to where I felt good! Well, much to my surprise, when I walked into the train station, I finally felt warm! It turns out the entire tile flooring of the station had radiant heated floors in them providing the heating of the entire station! I realized this, when I was feeling the heat sort of blowing up at me from the floors. Not like a fan, but like a small gust of air. I couldn’t believe that a train station would actually invest the time and the money into radiant heated floors! I have sometimes heard of department stores and regular office buildings with radiant heated floors, but a train station? This was a very unique type of thing! When I finally got on the train, it was actually really warm in there too. They didn’t have radiant heated floors, but a really nice central heating system. This was truly going first class if I ever experienced it! Possibly, because of the size of the train, that is why the heating was working so well. If only my car could provide that great of heating, I may have drove to my business trip.
