Heating plus A/C on a road trip is a vital part of being comfortable on the road

I often tell people that I routinely drive between the west and east coast.

They are always shocked, as I get the strangest reactions! I can’t help but laugh at this point, since people have such dramatic reactions.

They constantly explain something about taking a plane, or just finding a more conveniently located job! My response tends to be a complaint about how uncomfortable and anxiety inducing all airports and train stations can be. Sometimes, I get someone working to convince me of using a train or plane ride instead of my car. No dice! See, I am such a fan of driving that it would take a lot me to ever consider traveling by any other mode, be it plane, train or boat. See, the last time that I took a train, it was easily one of the coldest and most uncomfortable experiences ever! It was the middle of summer too, meaning I dressed in a light sundress to deal with the heat and humidity at the time. When I got on the train though, I soon realized what a big mistake it was to dress like this without a jacket just in case. The A/C on the train was insane, blasting the cabins at full capacity to turn the place into an ice rink. It seemed like they had air vents installed in every location, over every single seat! I had no escape. I sat down in my seat and bundled up as much as I could, and looked around for some sort of A/C vent that I might be able to turn down! Sadly, no such luck: I couldn’t find any customizable air vent in the entire train. Talk about a nightmare for a girl with thin blood! For the next half-day, I sat perfectly still while I shivered in the seat. Never again!
