Temperature affects learning

My lifelong dream has been to travel abroad for school.

In preparation for this experience, I decided that I would learn the language.

I researched programs and online software for almost two weeks before choosing one to invest in. For the next couple of months, I spent all my free time soaking in this new language. I learned that there are certain conditions that improve my ability to study and absorb new information. This had to do with things like the time of day and the background noise, but most importantly, l learned that the temperature control settings had to be just right when I studied. I always had to have the A/C system cranked up when I was focusing on studying Spanish. I was able to retain more information this way, and I surprised myself with how much I was studying in such a short phase of time… My mother was not thrilled that I was always blasting the cooling system. She would come back to the apartment after a long shift and say that the home was freezing! When I explained that I needed the air conditioning for my studying, she understood and realized how important my studies were. Even still, the house was too cold for her, so she decided to call up the Heating, Ventilation, and A/C company and they installed zone temperature control in our house. This way, I was able to have a temperature control in my room and I could always crank the A/C as much as I wanted without affecting the temperature control settings in the rest of the house. I was so blissful when I eventually went to learn abroad and I had a leg up because I knew the language pretty well. However, I did find myself missing that amazing a/c zone control when I was abroad!
