My boss at the HVAC company is very fair

I task for a local AC repair business; then most of the time I task on repairs, however every once in a while I will perform a total replacement.

However installation tasks happen much less frequently, because people appreciate repairing their system instead of replacing it. Heating, ventilation, and A/C systems can be severely extravagant, especially if they are energy efficient. It makes more sense to repair the problems instead of replacing the system every couple of years, but this month I went to help an older lady with a thermostat problem. Her kids bought her a new programmable thermostat and then they even installed the machine… Unfortunately, they did not install the thermostat correctly so the lady couldn’t control the heat or the a/c with the machine. I figured some of the wires were actually crossed and I didn’t think the task would take a long time, then when I arrived on the front porch, I recognized the name of the customer. It was our math teacher from college. I did not suppose the last name on the ticket until I saw the whole name on the mailbox. When she opened the door, she immediately recognized me too, and both of us had a nice hug and also a minute or two of catching up. The thermostat wires were crossed and then the short repair only took about ten minutes. I did not charge her for the repair, although I did take some fresh cookies to go. My boss totally understood when I told him about the lady. He did not mind that I gave her a free helping hand. That’s a single reason why I appreciate our boss. He is actually a great guy.
