I had my new HVAC system recently installed and was concerned about needing to change the air filters on a typical basis.
The Heating and A/C specialist told me how often to change the air filters and he even offered me information on what type of air filters I needed to purchase. The only thing I couldn’t remember about the air filters, was where I was supposed to install them. He never showed me how to properly change the air filters. I thought that if I were to inspect the a/c component and the gas furnace, I should be able to find the air filter compartment. I found several various little compartments, but I wasn’t sure how to open them. I called my dad and asked what he thought about the air filter compartments. He showed up an hour later and he went over the Heating and A/C system with me. He showed me the compartment for the a/c unit, and the compartment in the gas furnace. He took the air filters out and had me put them back in. When it came to the whole-house air purifier, he wasn’t as sure about the air filters. He said he had never dealt with a whole-house air purifier before. It took him a little while to figure out how the media whole-house air purifier worked but luckily he eventually found the air filter. He hadn’t seen a HEPA air filter before either. I had to laugh when he said it was a first for both of us. Before he went back home, he was convinced that he needed an air purification system for his Heating plus A/C system because he liked mine so much.
