We had so many people in our home last summer.
Our grandmother was celebrating her 60th birthday.
That was such a milestone, and all her grandkids decided to throw the biggest birthday ever. We started planning during winter and sent out invitations. We wanted as many people to plan to travel in advance as much as possible. Since we had the biggest home, our parents agreed to host the guests and stay at a motel near our home area. The season for the birthday was ideal since we wanted people to relax in the big backyard, grill meat, and spend time at the pool. Everyone traveled down, but no one alerted our grandparents. My sister had given birth to a baby a few months back, so they thought they were coming to see the child. But granny ended up walking into her biggest surprise ever. She was so overcome with emotions and had the best birthday ever, dancing and laughing with everyone. So many people spent summer and went back home in fall. We had so much to do in the fall that other things like servicing the AC system were forgotten. It’s only after testing the AC unit before winter that dad noticed there was an issue. The AC unit was making a horrible noise as if struggling to blow heat into the house. Dad phoned the AC servicing company to send over an air conditioner repair person soon to work on it before winter. A day later, the AC worker arrived and checked the whole unit. The issue was we hadn’t called them to come to clean the air filter after summer.
