We had so many people at our house last summer.
It was our grandma’s birthday.
She was turning 60 and it was a big milestone. We invited everyone we could. All of the grandkids threw the biggest birthday party ever for her. Planning started back during the winter time so that everyone was given enough notice to make travel arrangements from out of town. Since we had the biggest home, we hosted the party there. We decided to have the party during the summer so everyone could stay the whole summer and wouldn’t have to leave until fall. In the nice summer weather, we could relax in the backyard, grill and cook out, and spend time enjoying the pool. Everyone came down. But, no one told our grandparents. We wanted it to be a surprise. My brother had given birth to a baby a few months back, so they thought they were coming to see the child. But granny ended up walking into her biggest surprise ever. She was so overcome with emotions and had the best birthday ever, dancing and laughing with all the people. So several people spent Summer and went back home in the fall. I had so much to do in the fall that other things like servicing the A/C method were forgotten! It’s only after testing the A/C unit before Winter time that Mom observed there was an issue. The A/C unit was making a horrible noise as if struggling to blow heat into the house! Mom called the A/C servicing supplier to send over a cooling system repair man soon to work on it before winter. A day later, the A/C worker arrived and evaluated the whole unit. The issue was that we hadn’t cleaned or replaced the air filter all summer and it had become dirty and clogged affecting the HVAC system.
