We had an old filter that hadn't been replaced in months

Our house was full of people last summer for my grandma’s birthday.

Our Grandma was celebrating her 60th birthday, and that was such a milestone.

All her grandchildren decided to throw the greatest birthday ever. We started planning it during the Winter and sent out invitations. We wanted as many people to come and wanted to give them enough time to make travel arrangements. Since we had the biggest house, our parents agreed to host the guests and stay at a motel near our home. The season for the birthday was ideal since we wanted people to relax in the big backyard, grill meat, plus spend time at the pool. Everyone traveled down, however no one alerted our Grandparents. My sister had given birth to a baby a few weeks back, so they thought they were coming to see the child. But granny ended up walking into her greatest surprise ever. She was so overcome with emotions and had the best birthday ever, dancing and laughing with everyone. So multiple people spent Summer there and went back home in the fall. We had so much to do in the fall that other things like servicing the A/C system were forgotten. It’s only after testing the A/C device before Winter that dad noticed there was an issue. The A/C device was making a horrible noise as if struggling to blow heat into the house. Dad phoned the A/C servicing supplier to send over a HVAC service person soon to work on it before winter. A day later, the A/C worker arrived and checked the whole unit. The issue was that we had totally forgotten to change the air filter. The old one was dirty and clogged.
